Unit 3: Website Development — a single-unit, 60 guided-learning-hour programme assessed entirely through a Pearson-Set Assignment Brief (PSAB). Students research website principles, plan and design a site against a client brief, then build, test and refine it, across three learning aims (A, B, C).

Unit 3: Website Development
60 GLH, internally assessed via the PSAB (version-banked, 4 versions). Version 1 is an eCommerce brand brief requiring a responsive three-page site with an animated logo, hamburger menu, brand information, testimonials, an enquiry form, a shopping cart, an image gallery and accessibility features.
Aim A — Purpose & Principles
Understanding website purpose, target audiences and the principles of effective website development, then researching and planning a site against a client brief. Feeds PSAB Task 1 (A.P1, A.M1, A.D1, A.P2, A.M2). Lessons 1–8.
Aim B — Design & Assets
Wireframing, visual design and sourcing/preparing the written, visual and media assets a website needs. Feeds PSAB Task 2 (B.P3, B.M3, B.P4, B.M4, B.D2). Lessons 9–14.
Aim C — Development & Testing
Building the website in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, then applying accessibility/SEO standards, publishing, testing and refining it. Feeds PSAB Task 3 (C.P5, C.M5, C.D3). Lessons 15–28.
